BUTT WELD FITTINGS

Special Piping Materials offers a range of precision finished butt weld fittings to ensure a continuous flow in both seamless and welded pipes. Long radius elbows, straight tees, equal tees as well as concentric and eccentric reducers are all available in a number of different sizes to match our clients' requirements.

Butt weld fittings meet the requirements of the oil, petrochemical, water treatment and other allied industries, we offer them in a range of premium quality materials. This includes duplex, super duplex, nickel alloy, stainless steel and 6% moly.

butt weld fittings are manufactured seamless and welded with 100% X-ray depending on the size and are manufactured in accordance with ASTM A403, ASTM A815 & ASTM B366 with dimensions in accordance with ANSI B16.9, MSS SP43 and MSS SP75.

BRANCH FITTINGS

Branch fittings allow you to connect intersecting pipes. The two standard type of pipe branch fittings are tees and 45 degree and 60 degree wyes. When selecting a branch fitting for a particular industry, you have to consider what sweep you require. Sweep is the angle, or arc in a pipe that allows the smooth flow of the fluid, gas or whatever is travelling through the pipe.

SPECTACLE BLINDS, SPADES AND SPACERS

Spectacle blinds consist of a connected ring (spacer) and a plate (spade). If a piece of equipment needs to be inspected or removed from service then the plate covers the ring to form an airtight seal which consequently isolates a section of line or the piece of equipment. It provides a permanent or long term isolation device.

Spectacle blinds are designed to ensure that an item of equipment can be securely blanked off, with no possibility of leakage in the valve.

Spades and spacers are similar to spectacle blinds, except that they are not attached to one another. They are designed to isolate sections of pipe to prevent contamination and allow inspection.

Spectacle blinds, spades and spacers come in pressure ratings of 150lbs, 300lbs, 600lbs, 900lbs, 1500lbs and 2500lbs. Spectacle blinds, spades and spacers are available dimensionally in accordance with API 590 and ASTM 16.48 or any of our customer requirements.
